Beatriz Becerra is a Bay Area based artist working with acrylic and digital media. Her work is influenced by the surrealist method of “tapping the subconscious.” She works in an instinctive way, approaching the canvas by drawing shapes until they form a person or object, which eventually renders context and a story around the subject. Her art tends to romanticize melancholy, balanced and contrasted with vivid colors.
